Pronunciation

loo-EL-ahListen

Luella comes from English, coined as a variant of Louella rather than tracing back to an older root word. It has a bold, trailblazing feel to it, and is pronounced loo-EL-ah (IPA /luːˈɛlə/). You may see it described as meaning "famous warrior" (sometimes with "elf" added), but that claim isn't supported — as a coined name, Luella doesn't have a confirmed inherited meaning.
