Looking for a free pregnancy planner that actually covers everything? I’ve got you, mama. Download yours below and read on for everything that’s inside!
If you’ve just found out you’re pregnant (or you’ve been pregnant for five minutes and already feel like you’re drowning in to-do lists), let me be the first to say: you are not alone, and this is exactly what this planner was made for.
Pregnancy is one of the most exciting, overwhelming, emotional, beautiful seasons of life. Often all at the same time. And while no planner can take away the first trimester nausea or the 3am heartburn, having everything organized and laid out in front of you? That actually makes a huge difference.
That’s why I put together this free pregnancy planner. It’s a complete, printable resource that walks you through everything from those very first weeks of pregnancy all the way through postpartum prep. No fluff, no filler, just the things that actually matter.

What’s Included In The Free Pregnancy Planner
First Trimester To-Do List
The first trimester is such a whirlwind. You’re excited, you’re exhausted, you might be sick, and you’re also somehow supposed to figure out what to do first. This checklist breaks everything down into three simple categories (Baby, Health, and Safety) so you can work through it without feeling overwhelmed.
We’re talking everything from telling your partner and planning your announcement, to booking your first prenatal appointment, getting your dating ultrasound, starting your prenatal vitamin, and learning which foods, activities, and essential oils to steer clear of. It’s all here. If you want to go even deeper on this season, our full first trimester checklist walks through everything in more detail, and our roundup of first trimester must-haves covers the products that actually make those early weeks more manageable.
Second Trimester To-Do List
The second trimester is usually when most mamas start to feel a little more human again, and it’s the perfect time to start getting things done. This checklist covers the exciting stuff (hello, gender ultrasound and nursery planning!) alongside the practical stuff you really don’t want to leave too late, like telling your employer, planning your maternity leave, researching childcare, and interviewing doulas.
There’s also a full health section covering your prenatal appointments, glucose screening, genetic testing, and researching pediatricians. The kind of things that are easy to forget until suddenly they’re urgent. Our second trimester checklist has even more detail on how to make the most of this season.
Third Trimester To-Do Lists
The third trimester checklists are where things really start to feel real. In the very best way. Across three pages, this section covers:
Nursery prep: everything from assembling furniture and blacking out the room, to setting up your crib, bassinet, baby monitor, and organizing your diapering station.
Baby: finalizing your name (or keeping it a surprise!), ordering milestone cards, booking your newborn photos, taking a newborn care class, and learning about car seat safety.
Mama: those personal to-dos that are so easy to forget in the midst of all the baby prep. Book your hair appointment. Plan a date night. Check your driver’s license expiry. Consider life insurance and a will. These things matter, mama, and this list is here to remind you.
Labour: pack that hospital bag, finalize your birth plan, and make arrangements for any pets or older kids.
Breastfeeding and Postpartum: from setting up your nursing cart and washing your pump parts to learning about pelvic floor therapy and postpartum depression, this section makes sure you feel prepared for life after baby arrives, not just the birth itself. It also includes a prompt to start prepping your freezer meals, which is one of the best things you can do for your postpartum self. We have a full list of easy freezer meals for new moms to help you get started. For a more in-depth look at everything to get done before baby arrives, see our third trimester checklist for first time moms.
Diaper Caddy Checklist
One of my absolute favorite things to set up before baby arrives. A well-stocked diaper caddy in your main living space is a total game changer for those early weeks. This checklist walks you through exactly what to stock it with, from diapers and wipes to an Oogie Bear, saline spray, nail scissors, a pacifier, and a little toy. Simple, practical, and so worth doing ahead of time.
Baby Registry Checklist
This is the big one. The registry checklist covers everything, organized by category so you’re not just staring at a blank registry wondering where to even start. We’re talking nursery furniture, diapering, sleeping, feeding, gear, on-the-go, playtime, bath time, clothing, nursing, health, and keepsakes. Whether you’re a first-time mama or just want to make sure you haven’t missed anything, this list has you covered. It pairs really well with our roundup of essential items to stock up on before baby arrives too.
Changing Table Checklist
A well-organized changing station makes those (many, many) daily diaper changes so much smoother. This checklist breaks down exactly what you need for the station itself, what to keep on top, and what to stock in each drawer. So when it’s 2am and you’re running on no sleep, everything is exactly where it should be. Head over to our full guide on changing table essentials if you want to go deeper on this one.
Nursing Cart Checklist
If you’re planning to breastfeed, setting up a nursing cart ahead of time is one of the best things you can do for your postpartum self. This checklist covers everything from your breast pump and Haaka to nipple balm, snacks, water, hair clips, and a notebook. Because trust me, you will want all of those things within arm’s reach during those long nursing sessions. We have a whole post on nursing cart essentials with even more ideas for stocking yours.
Postpartum Care Kit
Your postpartum recovery deserves just as much preparation as your labour and delivery. This section lists everything you’ll want in your postpartum care kit, from a peri bottle and numbing spray to nursing pads, nursing tanks, a waterproof fitted sheet, and more. Getting this ready before baby arrives means you can actually focus on healing and bonding when the time comes.
Hospital Bag Packing List
One of the most Googled pregnancy questions of all time, and for good reason. The hospital bag packing list in this planner is comprehensive. It’s broken down into easy sections:
- For Mom: clothing, including nursing-friendly PJs, a robe, slippers, a going home outfit, and a sweatshirt for those chilly hospital rooms.
- Toiletries: all the essentials from toothbrush to dry shampoo.
- Labour and Recovery: your gown, labour socks, lip balm, an eye mask, a pillow, postpartum underwear, and your contraction timer app.
- Personal: ID, your health card, flip flops, medications, a big travel tumbler, and a long phone charger (an absolute must). See our full guide on the best snacks to pack in your hospital bag for ideas on what to bring.
- For Baby: two pairs of PJs, a swaddle sack, a hat, a sound machine, pacifiers, diapers, and of course that precious going home outfit.
- Photos: a birth announcement, a pretty swaddle, a hair bow, and any other props for those newborn shots.

Nursery Design Planner
A simple but really helpful checklist to make sure your nursery has everything it needs, covering sleeping, changing, and decor essentials. Great for checking off as you set things up, or as a starting point if you’re still in the planning stages. If you’re looking for inspiration before you start buying, our baby boy nursery ideas and baby girl nursery ideas posts are a great place to start.
Baby Name Planner
Naming a baby is a lot. The baby name section of this planner starts by walking you through different name style categories (Old Fashioned, Uncommon, Whimsical, Modern, Popular, and Country) to help you figure out what you’re drawn to. Then it gets into the really fun stuff: brainstorming name ideas inspired by meaningful songs, movies, places, childhood memories, milestones, Bible verses, and family names. There are worksheets to write it all out and a full Name + Meaning + Middle Names tracker to keep your shortlist organized. Not sure where to start? Try our baby name quiz for a little inspiration.
Baby Budget Planner
Because babies are wonderful and expensive, and knowing what you’re spending before you start buying makes a world of difference. The planner links out to a full Baby Budget Planner spreadsheet where you can track every purchase by category, so you can stay on top of your spending without the stress.

How To Use This Planner
The best way to use this planner is to download it, print it out (or save it to your phone to reference digitally), and work through it one trimester at a time. I’d recommend pulling out the relevant to-do list at the start of each trimester and keeping it somewhere visible: on the fridge, on your nightstand, wherever you’ll actually see it.
The checklists for things like the hospital bag, nursing cart, and diaper caddy are best tackled in your third trimester, once you’ve got most of your baby gear sorted. And the baby name planner? That one you can start filling in any time the mood strikes. Which, in my experience, is approximately always.
