How your due date is calculated
Like your provider, we start from the first day of your last menstrual period and add 280 days (40 weeks), adjusting for your cycle length. It’s an estimate — only about 1 in 20 babies arrives ON their due date — but it’s the same math your first ultrasound will be checked against, and it makes the countdown real.
