LOO-kahListen

Luca is an Italian name, pronounced LOO-kah, that developed as a pet form of Lucius or of Loukanos, meaning 'man from Lucania.' You might come across the claim that it means 'bringer of light' or simply 'light' — that's a popular but inaccurate idea, echoing the same mix-up often made with Luke and the Latin word lux. A boy's name with a classic, globally familiar feel, Luca fits both timeless and international naming lists.
