Pronunciation

RAYListen

Ray is a short form of Raymond (and sometimes Rachel) with English roots, carrying the meaning "protector" from its full form. You might guess it ties back to a ray of light since that's such a familiar word, but that's not where the name comes from — it's simply a shortened form of Raymond, unrelated to that meaning. Pronounced RAY, it has a clean, modern feel while still reading as a timeless classic.
