Ella was actually what my husband and I were going to name our baby if they turned out to be a girl.
Alas, we were blessed with a precious little baby boy who we named Hudson Oliver instead.

How To Choose a Middle Name for Ella
In choosing a middle name for Ella, I was inspired to go in a few different directions.
Because of it’s popularity in the early twentieth century, I love pairing the name Ella with a similarly traditional middle name, like Ella Rose, Ella Astrid or Ella Ophelia.
But, then again, it’s so versatile.
I also love putting a super contemporary spin on it, with some more bohemian pairings like Ella Sage, or Ella Poppy.
I’m always a fan of repeating sounds or letters, like Ella Emerson, Ella Esther or Ella Elizabeth.

If you’re more into the super now and modern, one of the “it girl” pairings like Ella London or Ella Khloe might be more your style.
An avid traveler? Me too. I’ve also put together some middle names for Ella that include places, like Ella Adelaide and Ella Sydney, both places in Australia.
As you read each of the middle names I’ve chosen for Ella, take a moment to pause, maybe even talk with your partner to see if the name evokes any special memories for you.
