Whether you’re preparing for your first or third baby, setting up the nursery is an important step in the process. If you’ve been gathering ideas on how to decorate and set up your nursery, I’ve got the inspiration you need.

Below is my list of the top nursery trends for 2025. Everything from themes to furniture to paint colors is covered in my list, so scroll down to find your favorite trends and get your nursery plans started!

All The Wallpaper

@emmavosti

In past years, we’ve seen a lot of wallpaper accents – a single patterned wall paired with rich wall paint or a half board and batten wall with a wallpaper upper. While these are beautiful, they’re also falling out of style as floor-to-ceiling wallpaper will reign supreme in 2025.

Fortunately, this trend is easy to DIY, affordable, and versatile enough to fit into whatever theme or aesthetic you choose.

Darker Wood Tones

@thelafleurhouse

White oak is timeless and a popular choice for nursery furniture, but we’re starting to see a preference for deeper wood tones over their light counterparts. Opt for cribs, dressers, rocking chairs, and other classic nursery furniture in rich, earthy hues to keep your nursery fashionable and on-trend.

Organic Modern Over All

@thejettyhouse_

Organic modern has become one of the hottest trends of 2024, and I definitely expect it to stay popular in 2025. This aesthetic is seriously stunning, and I think it’s a great choice for a nursery.

If you’re not sure what organic modern is – I’ll let you in on the trend! Organic modern is a blend of modern decor with earthy appeal; these two come together for a contemporary space with a welcoming, natural vibe. This aesthetic utilizes organic shapes (round lines and curves) and a warm, neutral palette – so think browns, beiges, taupe, warm greys, earthy greens, and soft light tones like cream and oatmeal.

Furnishings with round silhouettes or curved detailing are perfect, and don’t forget to add other organic accents and layers of natural textiles for a finished look.

Moody Vibes

@crateandkids

Moody has also been going strong this past year and won’t be losing ground anytime soon. Bold and dramatic with tons of personality and charm – moody decor is one of my favorite aesthetics for a nursery!

Choose dark tones and wood and vintage decor to fill your space with moody appeal.

Sophisticated Spaces

@thewelham

Sophisticated decor will be a hot pick for nurseries in 2025 – and I totally get why.

Picture frame molding paired with sleek modern furniture is elegant, while the bold and unique accents add character to the room without taking away from the classy appeal. I recommend selecting timeless color palettes to create a refined and cohesive look in your sophisticated nursery.

Limewash

@bethjamison

I predict limewash is making a comeback!

This beautiful painting method adds so much texture and character to a room. I love the look of limewash in classic neutral wall paints like cream, grey, and ivory. However, you can use this in any color, including traditional pinks and blues or modern green hues.

Color Soaking

@brooke.lynn.19

As I mentioned earlier, accent walls have been a big focus in the world of interior design, but that will be changing in 2025. Painting an entire room a rich color (also known as “color soaking”) will be the way to go.

You can even experiment by adding color to your ceiling for a bold look that opens the space up and draws you in.

@crateandkids

Wainscotting Wonders

@natatat._

Wainscotting is one of my favorite ways to add charm to a room, and I’m not the only one who thinks so! This interior design trend will be all over social media in the new year as parents add paneling details around the room for subtle sophistication and extra allure.

Vintage Charm

@namesake_home

Vintage-inspired nurseries have an effortless coziness about them. Soft pastels, lace accents, antique furniture, classic patterns, old-fashioned toys, vintage art prints – there are endless ways to add unique beauty to a vintage room and give your baby a charming and inviting space.

French Country Crooning

@emmacourtneyhome

The French country aesthetic balances elegance and rustic charm. Toile or floral patterns paired with soft linens, pastel tones, and elevated furnishings easily create a French countryside vibe.

@briahammelinteriors

This 2025 nursery trend works for a boy’s or girls’ room and unisex spaces. It’s totally versatile and easily customizable.

@homeoncastlerock

Giddy Up Cowboy

@anewwalldecor

Fun Western flair will be a big hit in 2025! Add cowboy vibes to your little one’s nursery via cowboy hats, tassels, horse motifs, boots, suede, and leather.

@mydarlingjojo

I recommend using earthy tones and textured fabrics to create a rugged yet adorable room. And, of course, don’t forget a rocking horse for the cherry on top!

Woodland Whimsy

@edyta1323

If you love being in nature and feel inspired by it, this next nursery trend is for you. A woodland-themed nursery is classic but will also be trendy in 2025!

Incorporate floral and botanical wallpaper and patterns, wood furniture, soft palettes, and plush stuffed animals like foxes, deer, and timeless teddy bears. These details will fill your baby’s room with whimsy and serenity!

@homeundertheeaves

Winnie The Pooh For The Win

@ashley_gartner

Bring the Hundred Acre Woods to life with a Winnie the Pooh-themed nursery! Pastel blue, green, and yellow, along with natural materials like houseplants, wood, and rattan are perfect for this aesthetic.

Add characters from these beloved stories via stuffed animals, wall prints, blankets, and mobiles!

@demidiamandis

Green Is The New Black

@kylieofkya

Green has become a popular alternative to traditional nursery colors. This hue works for boys and girls, and it’s a soft and soothing shade that adds timeless appeal.

I also think this color works well with so many different aesthetics. From moody to woodland to organic modern – green has a place in them all!

Statement Chairs

@samanthapgleave

And the last nursery trend for 2025 – statement chairs! Every Mama needs a place to cozy up with her little one, so why not make this practical piece a stylish one, too?

Whether you prefer a soft, textured chair, a modern glider, or an old-fashioned rocking chair, you can choose colors or materials that stand out and make a statement!
